He loves stalking massive tailwater brown trout with his clients, and never ignores a good top water smallmouth bite. Not afraid to think outside the box, or float the unfloatable, Justin varies his methods and locations to consistently put his customers on top notch fishing. Justin resides year-round in Boone, NC with his wife and two kids, and is the Founder and President of Trophy Water Guide Service Inc.
is the head guide for TWGS, and the other Shroyer brother running the operation. While growing up, Rhett aspired to become a professional fisherman, and his loyal customer base shows he made the right decision. He is one of the most consistent guides around, putting his clients in quality wild fish trip after trip. Whether it’s big water, little water, hackers, or lasers… Rhett can handle any guiding situation our region has to offer, providing anglers of all skill levels consistent success.
in his sixth season with TWGS, and has quickly become one of the most versatile guides in the area. He has intimate knowledge of the area’s small streams, plus an innate ability to scout and locate big fish on our tailwaters. Chris is an all around outdoor enthusiast, having hiked the entire Appalachian trail and most of the region’s headwater streams. Chris brings an enthusiastic attitude to every guided trip, that is much appreciated by our clientele and staff.
has guided with the Shroyer boys since the early 2000’s. Since, Joe has traveled the globe fishing a wide array of famous and not so famous rivers, but came back to his home waters to guide full time. Joe bases his operations out of Asheville, NC and guides the S. Holston, Watauga, and Nolichucky Rivers for TWGS. He combines tenacious guiding with a calming demeanor that keeps his guest in the game all day.
cut his teeth on the Boone, NC area small streams and TN tailwaters, guiding part-time the past 10 years for various fly shops and outfitters. Pat has now dedicated his life full time to guiding, concentrating his efforts on the S. Holston, Watauga, and Boone area small streams. Pat is the ultimate fly-fishing technician, expert fly tier, and a well known S. Holston sniper. You may often see Pat stalking the banks, with his fishy border collie Rufus leading the way.
